"I love the beach, but I don't get to be in the water often in New York. I mean, I wouldn't swim in the Hudson. But the water in Bora Bora is unreal. Even in the open ocean, you can see down to the bottom. We did every excursion: jet-skiing, snorkeling, swimming with sharks. We had so much fun that we didn't have time to worry about having to go back to work."
"Still, as dancers, toward the end of any break, we have to physically prepare to go back into the studio or onstage. And so in Bora Bora we did make time for two little barres at our bungalow. But doing it there, with a close-up view of Mount Otemanu, it didn't feel like work at all."
"We did excursions every single day but still had the most relaxing, pampering time."
Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia, both principal dancers at the New York City Ballet, planned an 11-day Pacific honeymoon that prioritized unhurried togetherness. The itinerary began in Maui with a stay at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and continued to French Polynesia for five nights at the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. The couple filled days with excursions such as jet-skiing, snorkeling, and swimming with sharks while also enjoying spa-style relaxation and resort dining. They maintained light dance preparation with small barres at their bungalow overlooking Mount Otemanu and considered returning for a future anniversary.
