"The lawsuit alleges the vehicle's design trapped the students inside and kept a friend from rescuing them. The Cybertruck had no exterior door handles - and had reinforced windows that were hard to break."
A November 2024 Cybertruck crash in Piedmont, California killed three college students and resulted in a lawsuit from the sole survivor. The vehicle caught fire after hitting a tree. The lawsuit claims Tesla's design features—specifically the absence of exterior door handles and reinforced windows difficult to break—trapped the students inside and prevented a friend from rescuing them. Tesla has not responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations.
