Mother-daughter lawyers say it 'means everything' to be called to the bar together | CBC Radio
Briefly

Lori Butler and her daughter Megan Delaronde have become the first mother-daughter duo to be called to the bar together in Ontario. Delaronde credits her mother’s tenacity for motivating her to pursue law, while Butler found inspiration watching her daughter. Both graduated from their respective law schools in 2023-2024, and their simultaneous call to the bar reflects her hard work. The Law Society of Ontario commended their unique accomplishment as a testament to family support in professional achievements.
It's incredible to be experiencing becoming a lawyer at all, but to do it alongside my mother, who is my inspiration, means everything.
We are proud to celebrate this inspiring moment and reflect on the diverse journeys individuals take to join the legal profession.
