Raptors may have to pay the ultimate price for Sandro Mamukelashvili opportunity
Mamukelashvili played four NBA seasons before joining the Raptors for 2025-26, never exceeding 15.3 minutes, 6.3 points, or 4.3 rebounds per game in a full season. With Toronto, he became a key reserve, averaging 21.9 minutes off the bench and starting 13 games during injuries. He posted career highs of 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, while shooting 38.9% from three on 3.7 attempts. His three-point reliability added offensive spacing because Scottie Barnes was a limited outside shooter and Jakob Poeltl and Collin Murray-Boyles were not 3-point threats. In the playoffs, he made only 28.6% of his two 3-point attempts per game and struggled defensively. The Raptors may have to retain him with a raise, but other teams with more financial flexibility could outbid them if he declines his player option and becomes a free agent.
