Laurence Fishburne wanted to be in 4th 'Matrix' movie - but was shut out: 'They didn't respond well'
Briefly

Laurence Fishburne, known for his iconic role as Morpheus in the 'Matrix' trilogy, revealed on 'The View' that he wanted to participate in the fourth film but was shunned by the casting team. Despite a character based on him being present in 'The Matrix Resurrections,' he was not included. With Warner Bros announcing a fifth installment, it lacks a Wachowski director for the first time, as Drew Goddard is onboard to helm it, emphasizing the legacy and impact of the original films.
"I offered my services to the fourth 'Matrix,' and they didn't respond well to that," Fishburne, 63, revealed during 'The View' on April 3.
"It is not hyperbole to say 'The Matrix' films changed both cinema and my life," Goddard told Variety at the time.
Fishburne famously co-starred as Morpheus, Neo's mentor, in the first three iconic 'Matrix' films, which hit theaters between 1999 and 2003.
