Ryan Kirwan makes AHL debut, Alex Steeves records three points as Toronto Marlies scramble back to grab point against Cleveland
Briefly

The Toronto Marlies faced off against the Cleveland Monsters, and despite entering the third period with a lead, succumbed to penalties that allowed Cleveland to gain momentum. Goaltender Dennis Hildeby stood out with impressive saves, but the Marlies’ discipline faltered, offering Cleveland too many scoring opportunities. The Marlies, who had recently broken a losing streak against Cleveland, reverted to past mistakes, missing crucial chances to secure a win. Their inability to maintain focus and control in critical moments cost them dearly, resulting in a frustrating defeat despite their strong start.
We had a one-goal lead heading into the third period. We took some undisciplined penalties, especially the first one, and that gave them momentum.
We weren't hard enough to play against in certain areas. We gave good players too much time and space in dangerous areas.
I thought Dennis [Hildeby] was unbelievable yesterday, and I've looked at the goals against - those are good shots in tight.
Toronto slipped back into their old ways, finding a way to lose a game they should have won, despite holding the lead through 40 minutes.
