Craig Berube on the Leafs' 6-3 win over Carolina coming out of the break: "We backed up a little bit too much in the third and let them come at us, but I liked a lot of our game"
Briefly

After the Maple Leafs' 6-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes, coach Craig Berube praised his team's strong start and effective gameplay but acknowledged moments where they became too defensive. Alex Steeves' standout performance, including his first NHL goal, highlighted the night. Berube discussed the dilemma of a potential offside challenge on Carolina's first goal and emphasized the importance of relying on key players like Matthews and Marner, particularly in crucial moments like 4-on-4 situations. He remains open to lineup adjustments for their next game amidst a busy schedule.
I liked a lot of our game. We had a really good first and built the lead. The third period was a lot of the same... I'd like to see our team a little more aggressive up ice.
He had a good game. That line was good. Very happy for him to get his first NHL goal. He was hard on the forecheck... he has the ability to score a goal.
That is part of their job, right? They have to be in that situation. When they made it 4-on-4, I knew they were pulling their goalie.
