Fintan was a 13-year-old male white lion at the Toronto Zoo known for his prominent mane and calm presence. He arrived in 2012 with two female lions and became a favorite among visitors and staff. He experienced gastrointestinal symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite and remained under veterinary care for months. Veterinary and Wildlife Care teams provided continuous treatment, but his condition worsened and staff made the decision to euthanize him. A full post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date. His name means 'little fair one' and his presence will be deeply missed.
