
"Ontario's police watchdog is investigating a motor vehicle collision where a 14-year-old driver crashed into another vehicle while being pursued by police in Scarborough early Sunday morning. In an email to CBC Toronto, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said a Toronto police officer in a marked cruiser was pursuing a driver for speeding just before 1 a.m., when the the driver collided with another vehicle in the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue area."
"A 14-year-old male driver suffered a serious injury and was taken to hospital, the SIU said. The three occupants in the other vehicle were not seriously injured. The SIU has invoked their mandate and has assigned three investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to the case. The SIU investigates police interactions with the public that involve death, serious injury or sexual assault. Anyone who has information about this incident, including video or photos, is asked to reach out to the SIU."
