Police search for man who allegedly escaped Toronto jail by impersonating another inmate | CBC News
"Police are looking for an inmate who escaped from a Toronto jail by allegedly impersonating another inmate who was to be released. Steven Alexander Guzman Marroquin, 32, of Toronto, allegedly escaped from the Toronto South Detention Centre in the area of Horner and Kipling Avenues on Monday just before noon, police said in a news release Tuesday. According to police, Marroquin impersonated another inmate who was due to be released from custody."
"He was fitted with an ankle monitoring device but removed the device at a nearby gas station, police said. Marroquin is wanted on the following charges: escape lawful custody; personation with intent; obstruct police officer; mischief under $5,000; and theft under $5,000. He is described as five foot nine inches tall and 200 pounds. He wears his hair in a ponytail and has a beard. Police said in the release that Marroquin is considered dangerous."
