Australian police have deemed the shooting a terrorist attack and are working to determine whether others were involved. One suspected gunman was dead and another in critical condition, authorities said. A police officer is also among the dead and another was injured, said New South Wales Police."

Toronto police echoed similar sentiments on social media by saying it was monitoring any activity that may target Jewish residents. Police will also be more present throughout the Jewish community during Hanukkah as a proactive measure, they said."
