Tanner Andrews joined the Blue Jays offseason acquisition with little attention, initially overshadowed by Nate Garkow. He threw three scoreless innings in spring training and was assigned to Triple-A Buffalo, posting a 1.35 ERA over 20 innings. His Triple-A performance led to a call-up when Dylan Cease suffered a hamstring strain. Andrews debuted in the majors at age 30 against the Miami Marlins, the team that drafted him in the 10th round in 2018. In two appearances versus Miami, he pitched three scoreless innings for John Schneider, walking two and striking out one.
