"The Toronto Blue Jays may have already made a huge splash this offseason with the addition of Dylan Cease to their starting rotation. But that doesn't mean that the Blue Jays are already done big fish hunting. In fact, ESPN MLB insiders Jesse Rogers and Jeff Passan predict that Toronto will swing for the fences before the winter is over."
"For Rogers, he confirmed his stance for top free agent Kyle Tucker landing with the Blue Jays this offseason recently on a Chicago-based station show "Waddle and Silvy", but with a favourable catch from Toronto's perspective. "I do think he'll (Tucker) end up in Toronto ... it's just not going to be for the massive, massive deal that maybe a year ago people thought, or he even thought," said Rogers."
"As for Passan on a recent MLB Tonight show on ESPN, he apparently went one step further claiming that the Blue Jays could be reeling in two big fish at the same time, indicating that "there is definitely a chance the Blue Jays could land Tucker AND Bichette". If that is the case, he believes that Toronto should vault into juggernaut status and be the favourites to win the AL pennant every season going forward."
The Toronto Blue Jays added Dylan Cease to their starting rotation and remain active in the offseason market. Toronto is positioned to pursue Kyle Tucker and could sign him for a smaller-than-anticipated contract, preserving payroll flexibility. There is a credible chance the Blue Jays could acquire both Tucker and Bo Bichette, a combination that would markedly improve the lineup and elevate Toronto into perennial AL pennant contention. Acquiring Tucker economically would enable subsequent pursuit of another impact bat, enhancing average, power, and OPS for sustained postseason runs.
