Maple Leafs recall defenceman Henry Thrun from AHL's Toronto Marlies

"The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled defenceman Henry Thrun from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, the team announced Friday morning."

"Thrun, 24, has been up and down between the NHL and the AHL this season and was likely recalled in the wake of potential injuries to defencemen Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Brandon Carlo, who both suffered injuries on Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings."

"It took me a minute or two defensively, and other than that, it was fine.  Couple plays in the second that I wanted back, but overall I thought that was fine.""

Henry Thrun was recalled to the Toronto Maple Leafs from the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Thrun, 24, has moved between the NHL and AHL this season and was likely recalled after potential injuries to Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Brandon Carlo, who both sustained injuries against the Detroit Red Wings. Both Ekman-Larsson and Carlo had uncertain status for Friday's game versus the Vegas Golden Knights pending a coach update. Thrun has skated in four NHL games this season and registered 14 points in 28 games with the Marlies. The Maple Leafs acquired Thrun from the San Jose Sharks in a one-for-one trade for Ryan Reaves; he is in the second year of a two-year, $1 million-per-season contract.
