Maple Leafs recall Bo Groulx from Toronto Marlies, Max Domi misses practice for personal reasons
"A second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2018, Groulx had spent his entire career with the Ducks before signing a deal with the Maple Leafs over the summer of 2025. He hasn't been able to figure it out at the NHL level yet, with only one goal and five points across 65 games over three seasons with the Ducks, but he's been a dominant presence for the Marlies thus far."
"It's hard to say at this point whether Groulx will get into any games with the Maple Leafs given the fact that the Olympic break is still active. He could very well just be a placeholder until Domi returns, but in that same breath, the Leafs may also be using this break as an opportunity to see what they have in Groulx in the event that they sell off some forwards at the upcoming NHL Trade Deadline."
The Maple Leafs recalled forward Benoit-Olivier Groulx from the AHL Marlies after recalling defenceman William Villeneuve the previous day. Max Domi missed practice for personal reasons and goaltender Joseph Woll was absent with the flu. Groulx, 26, leads the Marlies with 22 goals and 42 points in 47 games and had spent his prior NHL time with the Anaheim Ducks. He has one NHL goal and five points in 65 games across three seasons. The recall could serve as a short-term placeholder during the Olympic break or as an audition ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline if forwards like Bobby McMann, Nicolas Roy or Calle Jarnkrok are moved.
