He recorded 621 points (272 goals, 349 assists) in nine seasons with the New York Islanders before signing with Toronto on July 1, 2018. On October 29 he became the 49th player to reach 500 career goals, scoring in the third period against Elvis Merzlikins in a 6-3 loss to Columbus.
