John Tavares is in his 17th season at age 35 and has scored six goals and 16 points in his first 13 games. On October 18 he scored two goals in a 4-overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken, surpassing 500 points with the Toronto Maple Leafs and joining an exclusive group who reached 500 points with two teams. He recorded 621 points (272 goals, 349 assists) in nine seasons with the New York Islanders before signing with Toronto on July 1, 2018. On October 29 he became the 49th player to reach 500 career goals, scoring in the third period against Elvis Merzlikins in a 6-3 loss to Columbus.
