Leafs GM Brad Treliving says he's trying to make significant trade
"Asked by @jonassiegel if adding a top-six forward is still a target, Leafs GM Treliving says, "Yeah." "It's not from a lack of trying. You're always looking to try to improve your team. I think league-wide, it was a slower summer. . . We would like to add (a top-6 F)." - David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) September 17, 2025"
""It's not from a lack of trying," Treliving said of wanting to acquire a top-six forward. "You're always looking to try and improve your team. I think league-wide, it was a slower summer. ... We would like to add.""
General manager Brad Treliving says the Toronto Maple Leafs remain intent on adding a top-six forward despite extensive offseason moves. Treliving acquired centre Nicolas Roy via the Mitch Marner sign-and-trade with Vegas, added Dakota Joshua from Vancouver for little cost, and bought skilled playmaking winger Matias Maccelli at low cost. Treliving described league-wide activity as slower but said the Leafs would still like to add another top-six forward and have been actively pursuing such upgrades. Rumors have linked the Leafs to players including Mika Zibanejad and Nazem Kadri, though trade engagement remains unclear.
