Ross Atkins said Joey Loperfido was "extremely surprised" to be traded to Houston and called his run with the team great. Atkins said Loperfido had a great run for the club, had been a big part of the team's success last year, and that he will be pulling for Loperfido after the transaction. Joey Loperfido said he received the news last night and compared the move to his previous trade to Toronto. Loperfido responded, "I'm not crying, yet," and added that he feels he is leaving as a better player than when he arrived.
