Former Blue Jays reliever Josh Walker signs one-year deal with the Baltimore Orioles
"Fans may recall that the Toronto Blue Jays signed Walker in mid-December last winter, adding another name to the bullpen mix heading into the new season. He didn't crack the big league roster out of Spring Training and was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Walker would be recalled on April 21st, making three appearances. The New York product would allow eight hits, four earned runs, and two walks across five innings of work, striking out eight hitters."
"The Phillies would DFA Walker in mid-August, and the Orioles would claim him on waivers on August 21st. He missed a couple of weeks on the IL to round out the campaign, but similar to his time in Philadelphia, he finished the campaign in Triple-A. Across 40 outings with all three clubs in Triple-A, Walker produced a 4.64 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP across 42 2/3 innings, striking out 45 batters while allowing 22 earned runs."
Josh Walker signed a Major League deal with the Baltimore Orioles after finishing the year in their organization. Toronto signed Walker in mid-December but optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo after he failed to make the Opening Day roster. He was recalled April 21, allowing eight hits, four earned runs and two walks in five innings while striking out eight, then was optioned and later designated for assignment May 25 and traded to the Phillies. Philadelphia DFA'd him in mid-August and the Orioles claimed him on August 21. After a brief IL stint he finished the season in Triple-A, posting a 4.64 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 45 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings. He is 30 years old and enters 2026 with zero player options.
