Don Valley Parkway off-ramp to close until spring 2026 for construction | CBC News
"Construction on the Don Valley Parkway off-ramp is set to begin Oct. 15 and is expected to end in spring 2026 in advance of the FIFA World Cup, the city said. Drivers should expect traffic delays, and additional impacts will include the closure of one eastbound lane on Eastern Avenue and one westbound lane on Richmond Street at Eastern Avenue, the city said in a news release. It says there will also be intermittent overnight lane closures on the Don Valley Parkway."
"The construction is part of the Ontario-Toronto New Deal that includes uploading the Gardiner and Don Valley Parkway to the province. The city says it's accelerating the project schedule for this construction by about four months to help accommodate traffic expected during the FIFA World Cup. Similar measures are being used for construction at three other bridges, as part of the same city program, which is expected to be completed in early 2027."
"Roger Browne, Toronto's director of traffic management, said the city will adjust traffic signals through the duration of the project and traffic agents will be placed at critical intersections to reduce congestion in alternative routes. "We sincerely appreciate the public's patience while we get this very critical work done, and we encourage all travelers to plan their journey in advance, check map apps for the best route and leave extra time," Browne said on Tuesday at a news conference."
