Craig Berube highlights Maple Leafs' character in comeback win vs. Jets
"We stuck with it, good character win," Berube said. "Obviously a great way to finish off the road trip. It was a tough trip, but I liked our road trip overall."
"(Matthews) was good all game," Berube said. "He was skating and attacking all game, he had his legs. That line was really good for us tonight. But, you know, it was a good team effort. I thought everybody contributed and did a good job tonight."
"That kill at the end, that's huge," Berube said. "I wasn't a fan of two of the calls tonight. But I thought our PK, like all year, was a really strong part of our game. They did a great job and provided some opportunities the other way too."
Toronto rallied twice from two-goal deficits to force overtime and secured the win when Max Domi scored the overtime winner off an Auston Matthews assist. Auston Matthews opened the scoring and has collected 17 points in 11 games, continuing a productive stretch. The penalty kill successfully shut down a late Jets power play and generated shorthanded chances that helped preserve the victory. The team finished the road trip 2-1-1, earning five of eight possible points on a challenging slate. There was visible frustration over officiating, but overall team resilience and contributions across lines defined the result.
