Trevor Rogers held the Blue Jays to two hits through the first six innings, with Daulton Varsho’s triple and Brandon Valenzuela’s double as Toronto’s only hits for two-thirds of the game. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled, then Kazuma Okamoto hit a home run to put the Blue Jays on the board. Varsho added an outfield double before McAdoo’s debut home run made Blue Jays history and helped drive a six-run comeback victory. McAdoo became only the sixth Blue Jays player to homer in an MLB debut, joining names such as Davis Schneider, Devon Travis, and J.P. Arencibia.
