Halton police have charged a couple in connection with a Taylor Swift ticket scam that has defrauded fans of approximately $140,000. The investigation began after complaints surfaced in November regarding fraudulent ticket sales conducted by an individual using the alias 'Denise Blackhawk' on Facebook. The pair have been arrested and now face multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering. Prior, they had been charged in a separate Toronto investigation for a similar scam, collectively affecting numerous victims.
Halton police have confirmed 55 incidents of alleged fraud tied to an individual using the alias "Denise Blackhawk," resulting in nearly $140,000 in reported losses to Taylor Swift ticket buyers.
The couple has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering, already facing similar charges in a separate Toronto investigation for scamming ticket buyers out of $70,000.
