Brooke Henderson takes share of lead in home CPKC Women's Open | CBC Sports
""Before I got into the bunker I was thinking, `I can make this. It's very makable,'" Henderson said. "I was really happy with where the tee shot ended up and had a really good line in the bunker. "I knew I had to hit it soft because it was really fast. It was nice to land it right where I wanted to and see it go in.""
""It's always been a really special week," Henderson said. "I feel like I've learned so much every single year playing in it. I was just trying to lean back on some times when I've had a lot of success here, what I did and the mentality I had going into it.""
""I would say those two [eagles] are my highlights and, obviously, the chip-in on the last," Lee said. "There are no pictures on the scorecard.""
Brooke Henderson holed out for eagle from a greenside bunker on the short par-4 17th and shot a 6-under 65 to reach 11-under through three rounds at the CPKC Women's Open in Mississauga. Her round included six birdies and two bogeys in breezy, cloudy conditions at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. A large partisan gallery witnessed the bunker eagle. Henderson was the 2018 champion at Wascana and holds 13 LPGA Tour titles, with her most recent win in January 2023. Minjee Lee also shot 65, recording two eagles and a late chip-in to save par, and holds 11 LPGA titles including a major.
