Blue Jays prospect Jake Bloss throws second straight scoreless rehab outing
"Bloss opened the 2025 season in Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons after being acquired from the Houston Astros at the 2024 MLB trade deadline along with Joey Loperfido and Will Wagner in exchange for Yusei Kikuchi. In six starts with the Bisons last season, Bloss went 0-5 with a 6.46 ERA and 1.94 WHIP. Bloss left his start on May 3, 2025, and shortly after, an announcement was made that he underwent Tommy John surgery."
Jake Bloss made a second rehab appearance of the 2026 season with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays, facing the Florida Coast League Yankees. He pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and no runs, with no walks and three strikeouts. He needed only 15 pitches to complete the outing and recorded four of seven outs on one pitch. His first rehab appearance required 35 pitches, indicating he is still building workload. Earlier in 2025, he struggled in Triple-A and underwent Tommy John surgery after leaving a start on May 3. Hard contact and high hit totals were concerns before the injury, so improved miss rates are encouraging.
