Blue Jays continue to have players marching to the injured list as another reliever hits the IL
Tommy Nance was placed on the IL due to right forearm discomfort, and Joe Mantiply followed with left knee inflammation, landing on the 15-day IL retroactive to May 18. The Blue Jays responded by recalling Chase Lee from Buffalo to take Mantiply’s spot in the bullpen. Mantiply had been a key offseason depth addition, debuting in early April after Brendon Little struggled and was demoted. In 17 relief appearances for Toronto, Mantiply posted a 1-0 record, 2.04 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 17.2 innings. His performance had established him as a top left-handed reliever alongside Mason Fluharty.
