Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson to make Netflix road trip series
"The group, formed on The X Factor in 2010, became one of the most successful boybands of all time, selling over 70m records. Malik left in 2015 and has since enjoyed solo success while Tomlinson released his third studio album earlier this year. Before Payne's death, reports suggested that the band was to reunite for a special show. Payne has since been seen posthumously in Netflix's talent competition Building the Band."
"Malik and Tomlinson engaged in a social media spat back in 2015 when the former accused the latter of making bitchy comments about him online. The pair were seen together recently and Tomlinson was asked about rumours they would be working on something together. I heard that, he said. I thought that was pretty interesting, yeah Pretty astute. I suppose they'll just have to wait and see. Last month, Malik announced a residency in Las Vegas that will take place next year."
Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson will reunite for a Netflix road-trip docuseries that follows the pair as they travel across the US. Nicola Marsh will direct the series. The reunion comes a year after bandmate Liam Payne died in an accident in Argentina; Malik referred to Payne as his brother during a tribute and Tomlinson called him the most vital part of One Direction. The group formed on The X Factor in 2010 and sold over 70m records. Malik left in 2015 and pursued solo work; Tomlinson released his third studio album this year. The as-yet-untitled show is expected on Netflix in 2026 as part of a wave of celebrity-led factual projects.
