Ginger Johnson is the drag persona of Donald Marshall from County Durham, inspired to become a pantomime dame by comedian Chris Hayward and later studying at Newcastle University. The performer built a profile in London's LGBTQ+ nightlife and won the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, including a notable Barbara Cartland impersonation in Snatch Game. Post-win projects include the sitcom/chat show Ginger's House, solo performances at Soho Theatre, and touring the UK with Angels of the North. Donald Marshall appears on the new series of Celebrity MasterChef, which airs on BBC1 on 18 and 20 November.
