Who Else Watched The Gilded Age in Spanish?
Briefly

On August 3, viewers of The Gilded Age encountered a significant audio issue on HBO Max, with the English track inadvertently defaulting to Spanish. Many expressed frustration about the problem, including Vulture's Anne Clark, who initially blamed her Roku TV. The solution involved switching the language setting to "Spanish (Latin America)" in order to regain the English audio. Although the issue was reported to have been resolved, Vulture sought official comment from HBO.
Every time I tried to watch, it would play a Spanish dubbed version with audio description for the visually impaired - also in Spanish. I was cursing my Roku TV thinking it was just me, but Roku is innocent I guess. I was about to throw my TV in the trash!
It turns out that, if you switched the language from English to "Spanish (Latin America)," the series would then return to being in English.
While it appears the inadvertently switched vocal tracks are back to normal, Vulture has reached out to HBO for comment.
¿A todos les gustó mi acento? Did everyone like my accent? Señora Russell, hermana, ya eres Mexicana.
