James Van Der Beek missed the Dawson's Creek reunion reading at Richard Rodgers Theatre on Sept. 22 because he had two stomach viruses. His six children and wife Kimberly appeared on stage during the pilot reading and joined cast members in singing Paula Cole's 'I Don't Want To Wait.' Video showed cast members including Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson performing with Van Der Beek's family to benefit the nonprofit F Cancer and Van Der Beek. Van Der Beek surprised attendees with a prerecorded video expressing gratitude to fans, cast and crew and lamenting that he could not attend in person.
