"Back then, we still believed in this world. I guess it's easier to accept a story than believe that the people around you are monsters. There comes a time when you have to take action, when you have to choose your own destiny."
"The series follows young teens Agnes, dutiful and pious, and Daisy, a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead's borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia's elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present and their future."
Hulu has released a trailer for 'The Testaments,' a new series based on Margaret Atwood's novel that continues the story of Gilead following 'The Handmaid's Tale.' The series centers on Agnes, a dutiful and pious young teen, and Daisy, a new arrival from Canada who converts to Gilead's beliefs. As they navigate Aunt Lydia's elite preparatory school for future wives, where obedience is brutally enforced, their developing bond becomes transformative. Daisy arrives with intentions to help girls escape, and her friendship with Agnes creates tension among students. Ann Dowd reprises her role as Aunt Lydia, while Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday lead the ensemble cast. Bruce Miller returns as showrunner, with Mike Barker directing the first three episodes and finale.
