The Celebrity Traitors UK Is Hopping Across the Pond This Month
"Peacock is getting ready to offer American viewers an amuse-bouche of treachery: The Celebrity Traitors UK. The BBC's latest twist on the hit global format will make its Peacock debut next Thursday, November 20, Vulture has learned, with all nine episodes dropping at once. Celebrity Traitors will arrive in America exactly two weeks after its season-one finale attracted over 11 million viewers for the Beeb, scoring the biggest same-day audience for any TV broadcast in the U.K. this year."
"As the name implies, Celebrity Traitors features a cast of actors (Stephen Fry, Nick Mohammed, Celia Imrie), singers (Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church), and TV personalities (Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr) playing the game of deception rather than the real people at the core of the BBC's original show. And unlike other versions, including Peacock's, the cash prize at the end of Celebrity Traitors gets donated to charities selected by the winning player or players."
With two months until Alan Cumming and his band of Traitors return for another season, Peacock will debut Celebrity Traitors UK on November 20, releasing all nine episodes at once. The celeb edition features actors (Stephen Fry, Nick Mohammed, Celia Imrie), singers (Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church), and TV personalities (Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr) playing Faithfuls and Traitors. The cash prize is donated to charities chosen by the winning player(s). Claudia Winkleman hosts. The U.K. season drew massive audiences — over 11 million for the finale, twice-weekly episodes exceeded 10 million, and average weekly streaming-inclusive audiences surpassed 15 million, with strong Gen-Z live viewership.
