Stranger Things Is Still That Popular
"Stranger Things hasn't been on the air since before the 2022 midterms, but over three years between the show's fourth-season finale and fifth-season premiere did nothing to dent viewership. Volume one of Stranger Things's fifth and final season debuted with 59.6 million worldwide views in its first five days on the streamer, per Netflix. That makes it the second-most-watched premiere for a Netflix series ever, behind season two, and the most-watched English-language series."
"The show is now a decade old, and seeing the fanbase not only endure but continue to grow has been incredibly rewarding for us, the actors, and the thousands of artists who helped bring this story to life. We truly cannot thank everyone enough, and we are beyond excited to share Volume 2 - there's so much more to come!"
Stranger Things returned after more than three years between its fourth-season finale and fifth-season premiere, yet viewership remained strong. Volume 1 of season five attracted 59.6 million worldwide views in its first five days, making it the second-most-watched Netflix series premiere ever and the most-watched English-language series, surpassing season one’s 50.1 million in four days. Volume 1 consisted of a four-episode drop on Wednesday, November 26, benefiting from an extra day of tracking. Volume 2’s three episodes will arrive on Christmas Day, and the two hour-five minute finale will debut simultaneously on New Year’s Eve in 500 theaters.
