Siobhán McSweeney, 45, filmed and hosts The Traitors Ireland at Slane Castle, taking the role of Lady of the Manor. The Traitors format originated in the Netherlands and has been adapted in more than 20 countries. The programme combines murder-mystery elements with reality TV, dividing contestants into Faithful and Traitors who use subterfuge to pursue a cash prize. The UK series recently drew record audiences exceeding seven million. McSweeney connects personally to Slane through an early R.E.M. gig. McSweeney makes the hosting role her own, uses her acting platform to take political stands, and addresses breaking glass ceilings and a dream romance.
It was one of the very first gigs I went to. I was obsessed with R.E.M. I used to draw Michael Stipe on my walls, I was one of those teenagers. When they all came out on stage, I remember I excused myself from all my friends to have a private moment watching Michael Stipe.
I got to play Lady of the Manor in Slane Castle,
