RECAP: 'Golden Bachelor' women roast Mel for ageist comments during group date
"Gina: Yeeahhh, I mean, she knew there were going to be 20+ other women who had the same idea. Were they supposed to just sit back and let Cindy take the man they all came there for? I think not. A date card arrived and it read, "Nicolle, Gerri, Robin, Amy, Monica B., Cindy, Terri, Cheryl, Carol, Monica P., Peg, and Roxanne, love doesn't have to be so serious." Debbie cried when she realized that she would be going on a one-on-one date this week."
"Mel met up with the group at a theater. They found out they'd be roasting Mel on this comedy group date. Comedian and podcaster Jared Freid was there to help them! He's so funny! He said, "I'm 40, which is the age Mel wishes you were." I died laughing! Jared promised them if you lose I'll go get a martini with you. Jared urged Terri to use her puppet. We've seen more of that thing than I expected past night one."
Twenty-plus women competed for Mel's attention at the Bachelor mansion, and tensions rose after Nicolle kissed Mel in the pool. Several women, including Cindy, criticized past interactions; others defended competition for the lead. A date card invited a large group to a lighthearted outing while Debbie earned a one-on-one date. The group attended a comedy roast led by comedian Jared Freid, featuring jokes about Mel's age and dating preferences and prompting Terri to use a puppet. Several women performed routines; Nicolle handled questions about the kiss confidently. Mel ultimately selected Nicolle for a dinner date.
