The reboot debuts as a four-episode short-form run at 7am PST/10am ET on KidZuko, with new episodes each Saturday through Oct. 25, and will also be available on ReadingRainbow.org. Mychal the Librarian gained prominence on TikTok and Instagram for his love of libraries. The original series launched in 1983 by Buffalo Toronto Public Media to motivate children to read, ran until 2009, and was hosted by LeVar Burton. The new co-production involves Embassy Row and Buffalo Toronto Public Media, and the series previously won a Peabody and 26 Emmys.
