Pokemon Releases One Of Its Best Anime Episodes In English
"One of my favorite parts is a segment in which Hana and her Pokémon friends fly through various regions across the world, so there are plenty of nods to other settings, even if you're not big on Paldea. I'm very behind on Pokémon Horizons, but even if you don't watch the weekly episodes, I can't recommend going through the series' limited animated series enough. There are some real gems on that channel like Pokémon Evolutions and Twilight Wings, and they often dive into the universe in a more grounded, human way rather than relying on the same competitive sport storylines that were so central to the anime for decades."
“Dragonite and the Special Delivery” is a 15-minute Pokémon Horizons short released in February 2025 for the series’ 29th anniversary, originally dubbed only in Asian languages. The English dub is now streaming on YouTube. The story follows Hana, inspired by a Dragonite that delivers mail around Paldea, who decides to work at the post office. She begins by sorting mail, then takes initiative to find the sender of a mysterious letter missing an address. Hana and her Fuecoco travel on a journey that reconnects her with her original motivation. The short is emotionally sentimental and visually striking, including a sequence where Hana and friends fly through multiple regions worldwide.
