Netflix added five AMC series to its US library in December, including the magical-realism drama Dispatches from Elsewhere. The ten-episode mystery follows four lonely Philadelphians drawn into a peculiar scavenger hunt run by the secretive Jejune Institute. Simone, played by Eve Lindley, is a trans woman who overcomes isolation through participation in the game and forms new friendships and connections. The cast also includes Sally Field, Richard E. Grant and André Benjamin. Lindley is a film and TV actress whose credits include Queens of the Dead, Mr Robot and Tales of the City, and she brought lived experience to her portrayal.
