""She's hosted 'First Take' for 10 years and elevated the show with her grace, her expertise, her incomparable kindness," Smith said. "She's been an enormous part of our success for a decade. Molly Qerim will step away from ESPN's First Take after serving as host since 2015. The news emerged earlier than she intended, and she decided to close this chapter and leave the program. Reports indicated Qerim, 41, declined a contract extension but would remain through the end of the year; she was absent Tuesday morning. Stephen A. Smith praised her decade of hosting, citing grace, expertise and kindness. Qerim worked at ESPN from 2006 to 2010, then at CBS Sports and NFL Network before returning in 2015. No replacement has been chosen; Courtney Cronin is a leading candidate.
