Martin Short attended Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's Santa Barbara wedding with fellow Only Murders in the Building cast and producers. The cast and producers were seated in an individual back section where a small wedding cake sat nearby. Short assumed each back section had its own cake and, after several hours and with Steve Martin preparing to leave, he cut into the cake to give Martin a piece. Guests in the group reacted with alarm, and Short attempted to repair the cake with a fork. A photo captured the altered cake. Short and Steve Martin resume their 2026 comedy tour in San Antonio on January 29.
