"Big news... I'm on Hollyoaks!"
"I'm so excited to continue Ro's journey in the show, and I am so lucky to have this opportunity. Of course, the biggest thanks to my Mum for always believing in me and supporting me every step of the way."
"It couldn't be happening to a nicer - more deserving boy. He has an incredible life story but I will leave that for him to tell. Glad I've been there from the beginning Leo.. and I will always be here for you. And now I'm your agent kid.. there's no getting rid of me!🤣🫶🏽"
Hollyoaks has recast the fan-favourite trans character Ro Hutchinson with 17-year-old trans actor Leo Cole taking over from Ava Webster. Ro is the son of Tony and Diane Hutchinson and first appeared in 2013. The character began socially transitioning as a 13-year-old and has been shown increasingly struggling with mental-health issues. Cole announced the role on Instagram and thanked his mother for support. Agent Hayley Tamaddon congratulated him and shared a video of Cole telling his mum about the regular role. The recast continues the show's focus on a young trans teen's journey and wellbeing.
