Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are launching a docuseries titled 'Running with the Wolves', focusing on their experiences with an Italian soccer team. Initially believing they were investing in property, Ripa discovered that it involved acquiring a football field. The couple aimed to save a team with over a century of history, highlighting their plans to promote the region. Community involvement has been strong, with the team enjoying a two-year winning streak and receiving warm support from local residents in the Molise region.
Ripa: I feel like I was misled into believing we were investing in property in Italy. I did not realize... Consuelos: Technically true. Ripa: The property was a giant football field.
Consuelos: Well, it saved their football team that was over 100 years old and with the really rich history, we always had plans to shed a spotlight on this town, on this region, and this show is just the beginning.
Ripa: With this community, it cannot be stated enough. These are salt of the earth people. They are such good people. And I frankly, I think they're not quite sure what to make of us or what was going on.
Ripa: Really watching the community come alive and come together, and they had been on a two-year winning streak after Mark and his partners took over. All of Italy, the people are so warm, but I feel like in the Molise region, they are exceptionally warm.
