Kieran Cuddihy finally set to appear on Late Late Show after being pulled from episode last month
"With Cuddihy making his debut on Liveline next Monday, he will sit down with Patrick Kielty to speak about the programme as it gets ready to celebrate its 40th year on air. The former host of The Hard Shoulder will also discuss his upbringing in Co Kilkenny, his career to date and what it means to him to be taking over from Duffy."
"Also joining Kielty this week will be actors Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke, who will be chatting about their starring roles in Saipan, the film retelling the story of the infamous row between Mick McCarthy and Roy Keane at the 2002 World Cup in Japan. The film sees Coogan play the role of McCarthy while Hardwicke takes on Keane. The pair will tell Kielty about their preparations for the film."
"Ms Cairns will also be offering her take on the week in politics, including the fallout from the presidential election. There will be live music from singer-songwriter Nell Mescal, who will be performing a brand-new single. She will also chat about her upcoming headline tour, her rise through the music industry and her relationship with her brother, the actor Paul Mescal. Comedian Jarlath Regan is also set to appear, and will talk about how "Irishisms" inspire his comedy."
Cuddihy will replace Joe Duffy as host of Liveline on RTÉ Radio 1 and will debut next Monday, sitting with Patrick Kielty as the programme marks its 40th year. His planned Late Late appearance on October 10 was pulled after Newstalk argued he remained under contract. The Late Late will host actors Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke to discuss the film Saipan, while Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns will discuss the political landscape and presidential fallout. Nell Mescal will perform a new single and discuss her tour and brother Paul Mescal. Jarlath Regan will discuss how "Irishisms" inspire his comedy, and a child will learn live they will perform on the Late Late Toy Show airing December 5 with promised "big news".
