KGO-TV (ABC7) in San Francisco is an ABC-owned station in the #8 ranked U.S. television market near the city's waterfront. The internship runs January 2026 to early June 2026 and offers participation in developmental programming and daily operations of a major-market television station. Participants work with the 7 on Your Side team on consumer news segments produced multiple times weekly, reaching hundreds of thousands of Bay Area viewers. Responsibilities include monitoring daily consumer news for story leads, light writing, researching producers' stories via web and telephone verification, and cross-checking sources. Interns sift viewer responses, compile message data, assist consumer counselors with emails and outreach to companies/agencies, and help producers in the field. Required skills include Microsoft Word, Google Docs and Sheets, Excel spreadsheet experience, organized multi-project research, high attention to detail, and multitasking in fast-paced environments. Preferred qualifications include previous academic or internship experience in journalism, television, news or media production.
