Isiah Whitlock Jr. died at age 71, his manager announced. Whitlock gained widespread recognition for portraying corrupt senator Clay Davis on The Wire, known for a drawn-out catchphrase. Whitlock amassed more than 125 acting credits across film and television and appeared in multiple Spike Lee films including She Hate Me, 25th Hour, Chi-Raq and Da 5 Bloods. Whitlock held memorable roles on Veep and appeared in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas. His deep baritone featured in animated films such as Pixar's Lightyear and Cars 3. He was born in Indiana as a middle child in a family of ten and had a father who worked in a steel mill.
