"It was a real struggle for Haller to escape being framed for murder. But thanks to a complicated work around involving the mob and the FBI, Mickey is eventually freed and cleared of all charges in the season 4 finale. Even though he's able to return to work as Los Angeles's most in-demand defense attorney moving forward, his latest brush with the law and its ineptitude still haunts him as we head into season 5."
""Being wrongfully accused of something, spending time in jail, and having to fight for your very life or your freedom is just fundamentally different from doing that on behalf of clients that you represent. It can't not change you," showrunner Ted Humphrey told Netflix's Tudum after season 4 ended. "What that change means to Mickey or how that change manifests itself in his life is something we're excited to explore going forward.""
"Luckily for The Lincoln Lawyer, the courtroom drama picked up the official season 5 renewal right before season 4 aired on Netflix. The fifth season will reportedly follow another one of Michael Connelly's novels from The Lincoln Lawyer series, Resurrection Walk. Naturally, the story follows Haller as he represents clients who have been wrongfully convicted of a crime-just like him. Resurrection Walk also features Haller's half-brother, another famous TV detective by the name of Harry Bosch. But unless Prime Video is interested in a crossover, I wouldn't expect to see a team-up with the Netflix lawyer anytime soon."
Mickey Haller nearly goes to prison after being framed for murder and struggles to prove his innocence. A complicated workaround involving the mob and the FBI ultimately frees him and clears all charges in the season 4 finale. He returns to work as a sought-after Los Angeles defense attorney, but the experience and the justice system's failures continue to haunt him. The wrongful imprisonment fundamentally changes Haller and that change will be explored in future episodes. The series received an early season 5 renewal, with season 5 reportedly adapting Michael Connelly's Resurrection Walk, which features wrongful-conviction cases and Haller's half-brother Harry Bosch.
