"As of right now, there isn't official word regarding Alien: Earth season 2 just yet. However, Hawley has openly talked about his plans for a new season. In an August 2025 interview with the YouTube channel Evolution of Horror, Hawley said he has an idea where to take the story after season 1. "I have a destination in mind story-wise, which allows me to know what the story is I'm telling, what it means," Hawley said."
"Hawley elaborated that he hopes to "streamline" production, so that even with the show's complicated production process (from visual effects to set design and construction, among other things) fans aren't let waiting too long between seasons. He said: "And I don't know how long it takes to get there, but I do have a sense of where we go in success. And you know, the question becomes: How streamlined can we make the process so that you're not waiting for three, or four, or five years for more?""
Alien: Earth premiered on FX and Hulu and became a major hit with 9.2 million viewers and wide critical acclaim. No official renewal exists yet for season 2, but creator Noah Hawley has a planned story destination and intends to streamline production to shorten gaps between seasons. The show's production demands include extensive visual effects, set design, and construction. The series functions as a spin-off of the long-running Alien film franchise and has pushed genre boundaries despite its intense horror content, attracting strong audience interest. Even Sigourney Weaver reportedly cannot watch the series alone, underscoring its intensity.
