I know you are but what am I? A Pee-wee Herman lookalike!
"We've seen quite a few Pee-wee's, I've seen a Pee-wee dog, a few Miss Yvonne's, one Captain Carl. I've seen a couple of flowers, bikers - it's just a celebration of the whole universe here,"
"celebrate(s) similar things, creativity, being unique, having a good time, staying forever young."
"It's nice being recognized, I'm usually walked all over,"
"woke up about three hours ago, I went on Facebook and I saw that there was a Pee-wee Herman look-alike contest. And I happened to have this suit in my closet so I said 'it's meant to be. I have to come.'"
An energetic Pee-wee Herman universe look-alike contest drew a zany, creative crowd to Coney Island, Brooklyn. Adam Rinn of Coney Island USA co-produced the event with performer Little Brooklyn. Contestants competed in three categories: Pee-wee movie characters, Pee-wee's Playhouse characters, and Pee-wee himself. Costumes included Pee-wee, Miss Yvonne, Captain Carl, a Pee-wee dog, flowers, bikers, Cool Cat, Dirty Dog, Penny and Reba the mail lady. The community atmosphere emphasized creativity, uniqueness, and youthful fun. Contestants relished recognition and spontaneous participation, exemplified by Noah Steiner, who discovered the contest on Facebook and entered in a suit from his closet.
