Heated Rivalry stars share message for LGBTQ+ youth while at gay bar
"Seriously, it means a lot to have so many people in this community just really embrace us and love this show. I think it's awesome,"
"Take up space, be yourself, be really loud, and don't take s**t from anyone,"
"Just believe in yourself, and be yourself, and just f***ing schwing it, and bang it, and fling it in every which direction. And don't let anyone shut you up or shut you down."
"'It' being your authenticity."
Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, who play Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander in the Canadian LGBTQ+ sports drama based on Rachel Reid's Game Changer novels, appeared at Hi Tops in West Hollywood for a festive trivia night. The pair thanked attendees and fans for embracing the series and joked about social media attention to the show's steamy scenes. They took part in trivia that supported Rainbow Labs, an LGBTQ+ youth mentoring program. Both delivered direct messages to queer youth: urging them to take up space, be loud and authentic, believe in themselves, and refuse to be silenced.
