"This whole thing is really just a gift. Could not have found a better group of people to work with - it's pretty surreal. (Eric Dane on joining Grey's Anatomy in 2006)"
"Patrick Dempsey recently recalled Dane "in all his glory coming out of the bathroom with a towel on, looking amazing, making me feel completely out of shape and insignificant.""
"Mark might have had a scandalous start on Grey's, but he grew to become a beloved member of the Seattle Grace family. The montage shows him mentoring Jackson as part of the "Plastics Posse" ("kicking surgical ass and taking names," as he put it), becoming a dad to Sofia, and sharing a sweet relationship with Lexie Grey."
Eric Dane, who played Dr. Mark Sloan on Grey's Anatomy, passed away on February 19, less than a year after announcing his ALS diagnosis. His death coincided with the 20-year anniversary of his first appearance on the ABC medical drama in 2006. Following his passing, Grey's Anatomy aired a tribute montage on February 26 featuring Mark's most memorable moments, including his early scandalous storylines, his mentorship of Jackson, his role as Sofia's father, and his relationship with Lexie Grey. The montage was set to "Chasing Cars," the show's iconic anthem, celebrating Dane's beloved character's evolution from a controversial figure to a cherished member of the Seattle Grace family.
